Medical monitoring app for Chronic Pain Management

The aim of this project is to develop an application where people can record their pain level during the course of the day along with the activity they were doing at the time.

What is Chronic Pain?

The definition of Chronic Pain is often defined as any pain lasting more than 12 weeks. Whereas acute pain is a normal sensation that alerts us to possible injury, chronic pain is very different; it persists, often for months or even longer.

Social Effects:

8 million people of all ages live with Chronic Pain in the UK in 2010.

Estimated to be 14 million in England alone.

25% diagnosed go on to lose their jobs.

22% leads to depression.

4.6 million GP’s appointments per year.

Costs taxpayers £3.8 billion per year.
